Murabit Project Update 1, 2025
In May last year, we purchased 9 sandals for GHS 570.00 to motivate the children who attend the centres most. Last month, we distributed them.
This is how we distributed them.
Habitat Centre: 3 boys, 2 girls = 5
Bronikrom Centre: 1 boy, 3 girls = 4
We hope to give another round of motivation this December (2025), and hopefully, it will be bigger than this!
Besides this, we also provide monthly motivation for the children.
A big thank you to the parents who always encourage their children to come to the centre. And a big thank you to all that have supported us in diverse ways.
So far we’ve spent GHS 70,024.81 as at 31st Dec 2024. We started the project on the 22nd of August, 2022. That was when the Social Mercy Foundation was registered. The Murabit Project is one of the projects under the Social Mercy Foundation. We plan to start another project (The WAM Legacy Project) this year, In shall allahu. The idea is to convert all memories of WAM (Wamfie and it’s environs) into books, videos, pictures, audio, etc.
The Vision remains the same (slightly modified):
Creating a Learning Society in Dormaa East and making it the most literate constituency in Ghana by 2042, at an estimated cost of $2 million USD. We are achieving this by establishing 200 study centres where children Learn to Know, Learn to Innovate, and Learn to Succeed.
